Shibarium releases security update: Restricted specific bridge operations, limiting attackers' short-term BONE token staking

 Shibarium cross-chain bridge connecting the Layer2 network Shibarium and Ethereum was attacked by a flash loan this week, with approximately $2.4 million worth of ETH and SHIB stolen. Shibarium has now released a security update, which states:

1. Specific bridge operations have been restricted to prevent new unauthorized transactions;

2. Upgrades and restrictions on potentially abused paths (deposits/withdrawals/claims/rewards) have been implemented, with targeted defense controls to prevent abuse of delegated staking;

3. Recovery and protection of risky BONE held at the staking manager level, with short-term BONE staking by attackers being subject to intervention and effective restrictions by the protocol mechanism;

4. Rotation of validator signers, transferring contract control to multi-party hardware custody; continuing extensive migration from legacy keys;

5. Real-time monitoring of attacker traffic; automatic alerts and reporting to partners and exchanges;

6. Hiring independent security researchers, incident response companies, and relevant departments.
