Report: Bank of Japan May Raise Interest Rates as Early as September, Considering Faster Pace Afterwards

Three sources familiar with the Bank of Japan's decision-making process stated that the central bank may raise interest rates as early as September and is considering a more aggressive pace of rate hikes than the current approximately twice a year. "Signs of an early rate hike are beginning to emerge," one of the sources indicated, suggesting a high likelihood of a rate increase at the next policy meeting on September 17-18. (Reuters)
