Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, announced that it will launch an upgraded cross-chain transfer protocol CCTP V2 on the Ethereum mainnet, Base, and Avalanche in early 2025. The new version will significantly improve the efficiency of USDC cross-chain transfers, achieving settlement in seconds, which is a significant improvement over the current version's settlement in minutes. Circle stated that it will provide security for all cross-chain transactions and will expand to more blockchain networks in the future.
