  • Apple Reclaims Top Spot in Global Market Value, Surpassing Nvidia After 3 Months

On July 17, Nvidia's stock fell by 3.2%, further reducing its market value to approximately $4.86 trillion, while Apple's market value rose to about $4.90 trillion due to a recent strong rally. Apple has regained the position of the world's most valuable company. Notably, Apple's cumulative increase since the beginning of the year has reached 22.8%, with an 11.2% rise in the past 20 days, showing a significantly stronger performance than the market; Nvidia has been nearly flat over the past 20 days (-3%), indicating a clear short-term momentum weakness compared to Apple. This marks Apple's return to the top of the global market value rankings after several months. Market analysts point out that Apple's recent surge is boosted by expectations for the implementation of AI features, coupled with continued institutional buying, which has provided ongoing support for its stock price; Nvidia, on the other hand, is facing profit-taking pressure due to its high valuation.

  • Bloomberg ETF Analyst: U.S. Sees Record 242 ETFs Launched in June, Could Exceed 1450 in 2026

Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas stated on the X platform that the U.S. ETF market is undergoing unprecedented expansion, with 242 ETFs launched in June alone, setting a record for monthly issuances, equivalent to about 11 new products hitting the market each day. By mid-2026, the number of newly launched ETFs has reached 730, and at the current pace, the total for the year could exceed 1450, significantly surpassing last year's record. Balchunas is particularly focused on the aggressive expansion strategy of the emerging issuer Corgi. Data shows that Corgi launched over 100 ETFs in June, currently ranking sixth among ETF issuers. If the current issuance pace continues (the company has approximately 350 ETFs in the registration phase), Corgi could potentially surpass BlackRock by the end of this year, becoming the issuer with the most ETFs in the market. Balchunas noted that BlackRock took over 20 years to build such a large ETF product line, while Corgi may achieve a similar scale in less than a year. However, an increase in quantity does not necessarily mean a corresponding increase in asset size. Currently, some of Corgi's ETFs have attracted a certain amount of capital, but most products are still in the market cultivation stage. The average asset size of its ETF portfolio is about $4 million, while the average size for the entire ETF industry is around $3 billion, indicating that Corgi still faces significant challenges in attracting assets. Corgi's large-scale issuance strategy is described as 'extremely bold,' and its rapid expansion has undoubtedly become one of the most noteworthy phenomena in the current ETF market.
  • Zhou Hongyi: AI Competition Enters Phase of Implementation and Security

On July 17, during the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Zhou Hongyi, founder of 360, attended as a representative of security enterprises. He stated that artificial intelligence is transitioning from the large model phase to the intelligent agent phase, where AI is no longer just a tool for answering questions but is gradually acquiring the ability to autonomously execute tasks. As the application of intelligent agents accelerates, the corresponding security risks are also increasing. Artificial intelligence needs to adhere to a development direction that is safe, trustworthy, reliable, and controllable. Zhou Hongyi emphasized that this year's WAIC not only provides an important communication platform for the global development of artificial intelligence but also further clarifies the direction and principles of AI development.
  • Goldman Sachs Predicts Strong Earnings Season for U.S. Stocks, S&P 500 Earnings to Surge 22% Year-on-Year in Q2

On July 17, Goldman Sachs projected that the U.S. stock market is set to experience another strong earnings season. The firm anticipates that S&P 500 component stocks will see a 22% year-on-year increase in earnings for the second quarter, with AI infrastructure-related stocks contributing nearly 60% of the growth. Notably, Micron Technology and Nvidia together account for over 40% of this contribution. If realized, this would mark the second consecutive quarter of over 20% earnings growth for the S&P 500. The Goldman Sachs report emphasizes that the current market focus is not solely on the performance of tech giants—given the well-documented AI spending by large-scale cloud providers—but rather on whether a broader range of companies in the supply chain can achieve profitability driven by AI demand.
  • David Sacks Responds to China's AI Model Kimi K3 Topping Code Evaluation: U.S. Regulations May Weaken Competitiveness

Former White House cryptocurrency and AI director David Sacks stated on the X platform that China's AI model Kimi K3 has topped the Frontier Code Arena front-end code evaluation for the first time and has reached or approached industry-leading levels in several other benchmark tests. This trend is noteworthy. While China's AI capabilities are rapidly improving, the U.S. is mired in internal disputes over regulatory controversies. He criticized some U.S. politicians and regulatory agencies for restricting the construction of new data centers, increasing state-level regulatory requirements, and pushing for the establishment of new federal agencies to pre-approve cutting-edge AI models. David Sacks warned that if the U.S. slows its pace of innovation due to excessive regulation, it may lose its advantage in the global AI competition. "The U.S. won the internet era through permissionless innovation, and it can win the AI era in the same way; otherwise, we will see our leading position gradually disappear." While the development of AI still needs to address safety risks, regulation should be precise rather than hinder technological innovation. His remarks have reignited discussions about AI regulation, computing infrastructure development, and the competitive landscape of AI between China and the U.S.
