Thomson Reuters heir loses $80 million in cryptocurrency after following fortune teller's advice

On August 25th, according to The Wall Street Journal, Taylor Thomson, heir to the Thomson Reuters media empire, invested in cryptocurrency based on the advice of a fortune teller and ended up losing over 80 million dollars.

It is reported that Thomson invested with the help of former friend Ashley Richardson, who managed Thomson's 140 million dollar cryptocurrency portfolio during the 2021 bull market. This included a 40 million dollar investment in the native token XPRT of the equity proof blockchain project Persistence, which has since dropped 99% from its all-time high. Thomson has filed a 25 million dollar lawsuit against Richardson and Persistence, alleging secret commission arrangements and false statements. Thomson has reached a settlement with Persistence, but the lawsuit against Richardson is still ongoing.
