Chicago Mercantile Exchange Group (CME Group) will launch single stock futures starting this summer. The new product will enable market participants to trade futures on more than 50 top U.S. stocks from the S&P 500 Index, Nasdaq 100 Index, and Russell 1000 Index. Tim McCourt, Global Head of Equities, FX & Alternative Investments at CME Group, stated: "These contracts will provide a simpler and more cost-effective way to make investment decisions on stocks, while allowing market participants to gain relevant investment exposure or hedge against potential price fluctuations without directly purchasing the stocks."
