On October 12, The Block reported that SWI Group has raised €800 million (approximately $895 million) from institutional investors following its acquisition of Genesis Digital Assets, a Bitcoin miner owned by FTX. The funds will be used to expand its AI data centers and high-performance computing infrastructure in the United States and Europe. As part of its strategic transformation, the company is repurposing suitable Bitcoin mining facilities for AI computing, gradually exiting the cryptocurrency mining business.
