SpaceX Reportedly Requires Suppliers to Exclude Chinese Employees and Equipment

On July 30, Nikkei Asia, citing sources, reported that SpaceX, the space exploration company owned by the world's richest man Elon Musk, is implementing strict measures to ensure its operations and supply chain remain unaffected by China, in order to protect the production of technology critical to U.S. national security. According to the report, SpaceX has dispatched teams to review existing and potential suppliers and has instructed its global supply chain partners not to assign or hire Chinese employees at facilities producing products for SpaceX, nor to use systems or equipment manufactured by Chinese companies.

In Shenzhen's Huaqiangbei area, the price transmission effect is clearly visible. Multiple merchants in Huaqiangbei reported that following Nvidia's latest round of price hike notices to authorized graphics card manufacturers, all major graphics card brands have fully implemented warehouse closure policies, temporarily halting bulk shipments, leading to a rapid tightening of spot supply across the entire circulation chain. Visiting several computer assembly shops in Huaqiangbei, it was learned that due to the unavailability of new stock, existing inventory has become a 'scarce resource,' with channel distributors generally reluctant to sell, driving up the prices of available inventory.
