SkyAI Plans $201 Million Cash Tender Offer, Rejects Forward Industries Acquisition Proposal

On October 12, Solana Treasury company SkyAI (SKYA) announced its plan to initiate a cash tender offer to acquire up to 95% of its outstanding common stock and warrants at $3 per share, involving approximately 46.4 million shares of common stock and about 20.7 million warrants, for a total amount of approximately $201 million. The company expects to fund this offer using existing cash and proceeds from the sale of its Solana assets. The tender offer is expected to launch on Thursday and last for 10 business days, although it may be delayed or terminated early. Additionally, SkyAI's board has rejected a non-binding all-stock acquisition proposal from Forward Industries (FWDI), which suggested exchanging 0.306 shares of Forward Industries stock for each share of SkyAI stock, as the board believes it undervalues the company.

  • 10x Research: Bitcoin Options Prices at Five-Year Low, Investors Bullish but Hedging Risks

On October 12, 10x Research reported that Bitcoin options prices have fallen to a five-year low, with the near-term implied volatility at 33.5%, more than 4 percentage points lower than the actual volatility, indicating that options are relatively cheap. Over the past week, the skew of Bitcoin options has decreased by nearly 3 percentage points, with traders focusing on buying put options expiring in October with strike prices of $78,000 and $80,000, with single large trades reaching up to $204 million. 10x Research believes this indicates that investors overall still hold long positions while hedging downside risks through options, rather than fully turning bearish. In contrast, the signals from the Ethereum options market are different: its largest corporate buyer has indicated that it will stop buying in the coming weeks, with options trading primarily dominated by sellers of call options, and the implied volatility is higher than the actual volatility.

  • ZachXBT Questions Low Bounty for XRP Ledger: $250,000 Insufficient to Incentivize White Hats

On October 12, on-chain investigator ZachXBT publicly criticized the XRP Ledger Foundation's handling of recent security vulnerabilities and its bounty mechanism. ZachXBT stated that for a serious vulnerability that could lead to unlimited issuance of XRP, the official organization with billions in reserves only offered a $250,000 bounty to the white hat hacker who responsibly reported the issue. He believes that such a low reward mechanism fails to incentivize security personnel and may instead encourage future attackers to exploit high-risk vulnerabilities for hundreds of millions in profit, directly stating that this approach undermines industry trust in both the XRP Ledger and Ripple. Previously, the XRP Ledger Foundation announced that the recent security vulnerabilities had been fixed and that no additional XRP had been issued.
