On August 14, regulatory filing documents disclosed on Friday revealed that Samsung Electronics' R&D investment reached a new high of 27.3 trillion won (approximately 19 billion USD) in the first half of 2026. The South Korean tech giant's R&D expenses for the period from January to June increased by 51.5% compared to 18.06 trillion won in the same period last year, setting a record for the highest semi-annual expenditure. Additionally, Samsung Electronics' equipment investment in the first half of the year also set a semi-annual record, reaching 28 trillion won, an increase of nearly 5 trillion won year-on-year.
