Report: ByteDance's Revenue Grows 30% Year-on-Year in H1, Net Profit Declines Due to Increased AI Investment

On the evening of September 15, The Information reported that ByteDance's net profit for the first half of 2026 declined year-on-year due to increased investment in artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, driven by overseas businesses such as TikTok, ByteDance's revenue in the first half of the year grew by 30% year-on-year, with overseas revenue reaching a new high as a percentage of total revenue. ByteDance did not comment on the above data. According to The Information, although Douyin still contributes the majority of ByteDance's revenue, overseas revenue primarily from TikTok now accounts for over 30% of total revenue. The share of overseas business, led by TikTok, in ByteDance's overall revenue is steadily increasing, projected to be 25% in 2024 and 30% in 2025.
