Microsoft announced multi-year funding support totaling $60 million to the U.S. Department of Energy's Genesis project. Under the plan, Microsoft will disburse $40 million in Azure compute and AI credits over three years, and invest $20 million in solution engineering and support services. In addition to funding, Microsoft is establishing a new coordination center called SPARK (Strategic Partnership for Advancing Research and Knowledge Science) to serve as the single entry point for collaboration between Genesis and Microsoft.
