Meitu Founder Wu Xinhong Increases Stake by 1 Million Shares, No Plans to Reduce Holdings

On September 15, Meitu Inc. (1357.HK) announced that its founder, chairman, and CEO Wu Xinhong purchased 1 million shares of the company at an average price of HKD 3.899 per share on September 15, 2026. Public information shows that Wu Xinhong has repeatedly increased his stake in Meitu since May 10, 2018, and with this latest purchase, he has acquired a total of 6.58 million shares. Following this acquisition, Wu Xinhong's holdings account for approximately 12.99% of Meitu's issued share capital. The announcement clarified that in response to recent online rumors suggesting that Wu Xinhong had sold or planned to sell his shares, Meitu confirmed that he has never sold any of his shares and has no plans or intentions to sell or otherwise reduce his holdings in the company. Wu Xinhong further stated that the fundamentals of Meitu's business remain strong, and given the ongoing acceleration of product innovation and long-term growth potential, he does not rule out the possibility of further increasing his stake in Meitu at an appropriate time. Additionally, according to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange announcement, on September 15, Meitu repurchased 5.1 million shares, with the repurchase amounting to approximately HKD 20 million.
