On July 1, Reuters reported that Hodli, a fintech company based in Genoa, Italy, announced it has received a crypto asset service provider (CASP) license from the Bank of Italy under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), becoming the first institution in Italy to offer crypto asset portfolio management services. Hodli stated that unlike local institutions that only provide crypto asset custody services, this license allows the company to manage crypto asset portfolios on behalf of clients. CEO Gianluca Sommariva mentioned that Hodli will utilize its proprietary algorithms to analyze, allocate, and monitor clients' crypto asset investments, while also leveraging artificial intelligence technology to optimize portfolio performance.
