the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong (SFC) held its first meeting with licensed virtual asset trading platforms today, forming a Virtual Asset Consultation Group (Group). The Group is chaired by Dr. Ye Zhiheng, Executive Director of the SFC's Intermediaries Division, with members including all licensed virtual asset trading platforms and represented by their senior management. The Group will provide valuable contributions to the SFC in formulating regulatory policies to further promote the development of a sustainable and resilient virtual asset ecosystem. Through collaboration with its members, the Group will identify policy priorities and pave the way for market and regulatory development based on investor protection.
