FTX hacker requests temporary release from house arrest to attend family birthday party

the hacker Robert Powell, who is suspected of stealing $400 million in cryptocurrency from FTX exchange by swapping SIM cards, has applied to the court for temporary release from house arrest so that he can attend his girlfriend's sister's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese in Illinois on Sunday. Powell was arrested with two accomplices in February of this year and was released on bail of $10,000 with house arrest, with restrictions on internet use and only allowed to attend court or medical appointments. His lawyer stated that Powell has fully complied with all release conditions and that the prosecution and pre-trial unit do not object to this request.
