Nic Carter, co-founder of Castle Island Ventures and often referred to as the "father of smart contracts," stated on the X platform that Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) is on the verge of obsolescence. Whether it takes 3 years or 10 years, this era is ending, and we must accept this reality. The only thing that matters is how quickly blockchain developers realize they need to introduce mutable cryptographic mechanisms into their networks. This will undoubtedly require a fundamental reimagining of how these systems operate. Currently, cryptographic mechanisms are hardcoded into systems, but this will have to change. The Ethereum community has already recognized this. Others seem to remain paralyzed by fear. Unless the situation changes rapidly, the price of ETH/BTC will begin to reflect this divergence in priorities.
