According to a report by The Information, Anthropic has signed a six-year, $13.7 billion computing contract with Rum Group, which will lease its data center currently under construction in Georgia. Rum Group is the former parent company of Rumble, a video platform that has long been popular among American conservatives, and Truth Social also operates on Rumble Cloud. Early investors in Rumble include Peter Thiel and Narya Capital, co-founded by J.D. Vance. This deal also includes a rare stock option clause, providing Rum Group with up to approximately 50.8 million stock options at an exercise price of just $0.01 per share, which will be gradually unlocked as Anthropic actually purchases computing power. Rum Group confirmed this $13.7 billion contract and stock options in an 8-K filing with the SEC last month, although the identity of the client was not disclosed at that time. Originally focused on the Rumble video platform, Rum Group officially shifted towards AI infrastructure after acquiring the German cloud computing company Northern Data this year, and currently owns about 22,000 H100/H200 GPUs. If this Anthropic contract materializes, it will become the largest order since its transition to AI cloud.
