DrinkUP: Drink Water, Plant Trees, Save the Earth

Validated Project

DrinkUP has submitted a Grant application on Gitcoin. You are welcome to support this project hrough the Climate Solutions Grant.(https://grant.drinkup.com) This round of Grant will end on May 9th. Gitcoin Grant is a quadratic funding platform where the more support a project receives, the more matching funds Gitcoin will provide. So, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT, BADLY.

DrinkUP is an intelligent water drinking reminder, which is designed to help users drink enough water daily to stay healthy. Apart from personal health, we place great emphasis on our planet’s health as well. For the purpose of addressing climate challenges, DrinkUP has launched two core initiatives:

We launched a game that links drinking water with planting trees to encourage environmental preservation, which would have a positive impact on the planet. We hope to create more value for the world through innovative product concepts. Users can unlock the "Forest" feature and get a free seedling NFT. As users complete the water-drinking challenge every day, the seeds will grow into a tree. After paying certain amount of tokens, we will plant a real tree in a dry area.

According to data, planting trees effectively reduces the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Trees can absorb about 48 pounds of carbon dioxide annually and absorb about 1 ton during their 40-year life cycle. By 2050, planting one trillion trees worldwide can absorb about 25% of atmospheric carbon dioxide, helping to offset the impact of climate change. In one word, planting trees helps reduce carbon emissions, slows global warming, improves air quality, protects biodiversity, and brings real environmental value to the world.

We are also about to launch a smart water cup that can be connected to software and thus works with Drink UP Dapp to remind users to drink water through illumination. Thanks to this, the use of disposable plastic bottles can be significantly reduced. Besides, this cup is a renewable resource that can be reused for many years, making it 发热more eco-friendly and sustainable than disposable ones.

It is estimated that 8 million tons of plastic enter the ocean each year, equivalent to five plastic-filled shopping bags per foot of coastline. By 2025, this number is expected to double. Approximately 60 million plastic bottles end up in landfills and incinerators daily. Using DrinkUP's intelligent water cup means choosing renewable resources and reducing the use of environmentally harmful plastic bottles.

Let's support DrinkUP together and, in doing so, contribute to the climate issues of the Earth, and protect our beautiful planet.
