US Stocks Open with Semiconductor and Optical Communication Shares Mostly Rising; LITE Up Over 2%, Storage Stocks Still Under Pressure

On August 6, according to BIT (bit.com) market data, after the opening of US stocks on Thursday, most semiconductor and optical communication shares turned to gains, showing a significant recovery compared to pre-market conditions. Most semiconductor stocks rose, with ASML up 2.17%, Arm up 1.69%, Qualcomm (QCOM) up 1.66%, Nvidia (NVDA) up 1.36%, and TSMC (TSM) up 1.18%. Optical communication stocks led the gains, with Lumentum (LITE) up 2.66%, Corning (GLW) up 2.04%, Astera Labs (ALAB) up 1.70%, and Coherent (COHR) up 1.27%. The storage sector remained under pressure, but the declines narrowed, with Western Digital (WDC) down 12.06%, SanDisk (SNDK) down 5.62%, SK Hynix (SKHY) down 4.45%, and Micron Technology (MU) down 1.75%; Seagate Technology (STX) was up 0.25%.
