U.S. consumers' long-term inflation expectations rise to 30-year high in February

American consumers' expectations for long-term inflation rates have risen to the highest level in 30 years, with respondents concerned that Trump's tariff hikes will lead to price increases. According to the University of Michigan's Consumer Sentiment Survey, consumers expect prices to rise at a rate of 3.5% per year over the next five to ten years, the highest level since 1995 in Bloomberg compiled data.
