Trump signs executive order seeking to cut more federal agencies

US President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Friday aimed at reducing the size of eight federal agencies, as part of his action to reduce the size of the US government. The action eliminates the non-statutory functions of these entities and reduces other functions described as "unnecessary" in the White House situation report. The affected groups include the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, the US Global Media Agency, the Woodrow Wilson International Scholar Center, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the National Council on Homelessness, the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, the Minority Business Development Agency, and the Arctic Research Commission.
