The Pentagon is considering sending more warships to escort convoys in the Strait of Hormuz.

according to market sources: Due to the escalating attacks by Iran, the Pentagon is considering sending more warships to the Middle East to escort oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

The U.S. Central Command has requested additional destroyers and Marine vessels to assist in protecting commercial shipping through this route. The Strait of Hormuz typically carries about 20% of the world's oil supply.

Officials stated that the escort mission may only begin after the threat from Iran decreases. Even though the U.S. is targeting Tehran's missile and drone capabilities, this process may take a month or longer.
