On September 28, Tether announced on its official website that it has partnered with Shiga to launch self-custody financial products for individuals, businesses, and institutions in Africa and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, leveraging its open-source wallet development kit (WDK). Users will have direct control over USD₮, Bitcoin, and gold token XAU₮. The collaboration includes two products: ENTA, aimed at individuals and businesses, allows users to fund their self-custody wallets with local currency, USD, or Bitcoin; and Pulse, targeted at banks and fintech institutions, focuses on building digital asset products around specific payment corridors, treasury, and settlement. This initiative continues Tether's strategic investment in Shiga made in 2025, as Shiga completes the final stages of approval for its digital asset license in Nigeria.
