Shinhan Investment Corp. Recommends 2% Allocation to Digital Assets

On September 8, according to Yonhap News Agency, Park Woo-yeol, chief researcher at Shinhan Investment Corp., stated that as stocks and bonds have been increasingly moving in the same direction in recent years, the traditional asset allocation strategy of 60% stocks and 40% bonds has become less effective in diversifying risk. He recommends expanding the portfolio to include 8% alternative assets and 2% digital assets. Shinhan Investment Corp. began advocating for a 2% allocation to digital assets this year, one of the reasons being that backtesting a 10% allocation to alternative assets between gold and Bitcoin showed that an 80:20 ratio of gold to BTC achieved relatively better risk-adjusted performance.
