According to two informed sources, humanoid robot data startup Mecka AI is nearing the completion of a new funding round led by Sequoia Capital, with a valuation of approximately $500 million. The scale and specific terms of this funding round have yet to be determined and may still change. Mecka AI primarily collects data on human daily movements through body sensors and smartphones, using this data to train humanoid robots and other robotic systems. The company was founded in 2024 and completed a $60 million funding round in June of this year, led by Framework Ventures, with participation from Menlo Ventures, SV Angel, and Kindred Ventures. Notably, the founding team of Mecka AI previously worked mainly in food fintech and cryptocurrency startups, rather than in the robotics industry.
