Sei Releases Giga Upgrade Roadmap, Aiming for 200,000 TPS and 400ms Finality

On May 29, Sei released the Giga upgrade roadmap. Giga is Sei's next-generation protocol upgrade, aimed at achieving higher transaction performance by restructuring the execution client, state management, and consensus mechanism. According to the roadmap, Sei will introduce several core upgrades, including: Ares execution client upgrade (significantly enhancing performance through optimizations such as pipelined execution and asynchronous processing); Eidos state management upgrade (replacing the Merkle tree with a flat key-value store, separating hot state from cold archive); Autobahn consensus (targeting 200,000 TPS and 400ms finality, having achieved 5 Gigagas processing capacity in internal distributed testnets); Sedna private memory pool (introducing a cryptographic transaction propagation mechanism); and a gradual shift to an EVM-only architecture (phasing out Cosmos SDK and CosmWasm through SIP-3).
