On July 29, Cardano wallet service provider SecondFi issued a security incident update, stating that a white hat team involved in its Asset Recovery Fund has deposited some rescued assets into the recovery fund address established by EMURGO for transparent tracking of asset recovery progress. It emphasized that this address is for viewing only, and users should not transfer funds to this address. SecondFi reiterated that it will not request private keys, seed phrases, or wallet credentials, nor will it proactively contact users via private messages or emails. It warned that counterfeit SecondFi browser extensions and applications have appeared in the market, and the official sole extension is available only on the Chrome Web Store with a blue verification mark. It reminded users to only access links and information via secondfi.io and official support channels.
