Polygon Labs CEO Marc Boiron stated that this auction is not just about the Charizard card, but also showcases how blockchain is revolutionizing the collectibles world. According to a Polygon Labs token holder, they acquired the card from a well-known seller, and market data since 2020 shows that similar first edition Charizard Pokemon cards have sold for approximately $264,000 to $400,000.
