On August 13, the Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) made its first investment in stablecoin issuer Circle. Data disclosed by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) shows that KIC held 65,443 shares of Circle, valued at approximately $4.099 million (about 5.83 billion Korean won) as of the second quarter of 2026. Previously, KIC's investments in cryptocurrency-related companies included Strategy, Coinbase, Block, Robinhood, and Riot Platforms. In the second quarter of 2026, KIC reduced its holdings in Strategy, Coinbase, and Riot Platforms while increasing its positions in Block and Robinhood, resulting in a total value of related U.S. stock holdings rising from $132 million in the first quarter to $168 million, a 27% increase. Specifically, the value of Strategy's holdings decreased from $10.61 million to $7.17 million, a decline of 32%; Coinbase dropped from $52.99 million to $36.93 million, a decrease of 30%; Block increased from $17.25 million to $27.34 million, a growth of 58%; Robinhood rose from $45.88 million to $87.96 million, a surge of 92%; and Riot grew from $4.95 million to $8.42 million, an increase of 70%.
