Justice Department considers ending criminal case against Trump

on the 6th, local time, citing informed sources, US Department of Justice officials have begun evaluating how to end the two federal criminal cases against elected President Trump before he takes office to comply with the policy that a sitting President cannot be prosecuted. The sources said that Department of Justice officials believe there is currently not enough room to continue to bring these two criminal lawsuits against Trump, and it would not make sense to continue to bring them in the weeks leading up to his inauguration. Previously, Trump faced multiple lawsuits, including federal lawsuits accusing him of attempting to overturn the 2020 election results and mishandling classified documents after leaving office, as well as a state court case involving the "hush money case".
