On July 13, Tether announced that Hyundai Motor America and Hyundai Motor Mexico have completed a proof-of-concept (POC) for enterprise-level cross-border settlement via Axiym on the Avalanche network, marking the first enterprise cross-border fund settlement pilot case for Tether. In this pilot, Hyundai Motor America converted $20,000 into USDT, transferred it cross-border to Hyundai Motor Mexico, and then converted it back to US dollars. The entire cross-border transfer and verification process averaged only 7 minutes, significantly faster than traditional bank wire transfers, which typically take 3 to 4 hours. Tether stated that this pilot demonstrates the potential of stablecoins in enterprise cross-border payments, fund management, and global fund allocation. In the next phase, the project will explore additional cross-border payment channels and local currency settlement scenarios, further evaluating the application of stablecoins in corporate treasury management.
