On September 25, Genius Terminal co-founder Ryan Myher addressed the controversy regarding the adjustment of the second season points rules: "Genius is essentially a terminal for trading crypto assets, and points are merely additional benefits that users may receive when trading on Genius. Every user who comes to trade on Genius has agreed to our airdrop terms. If you started using it from Season 1, then users have actually agreed to it twice. If you do not accept these terms, you cannot use the platform. Points are inherently additional benefits, so the points rules will be adjusted based on actual circumstances. Recently, terminal trading volume has decreased somewhat, so the points issued daily have also decreased. One thing is certain: personal tokens will not unlock before user tokens." Earlier on the 24th, it was reported that the on-chain trading terminal Genius, invested by YZi Labs, had made adjustments to its second season points activities. The community claimed that the event promised to unlock 70 million GENIUS tokens by October 25 to incentivize users to trade and accumulate points. Official documents previously stated that the second season would last from April 10 to August 10, with daily points set at 1.5 million; however, recent updates have removed the description of the season from April 10 to August 10 from the current documents, and daily points have been reduced to 50,000. According to CoinMarketCap data, the unlocking date for the 70 million tokens has been postponed to February 2028. Some participants are demanding that the tokens be unlocked as originally scheduled or that the related fees for the second season be refunded.
