On September 28, according to an update from CoinDesk, Bitget resumed Bitcoin network withdrawals at 08:00 (UTC) after a four-day freeze. The platform disclosed that attackers exploited a vulnerability in a third-party security product to obtain internal high-level credentials, allowing them to forge withdrawal instructions and bypass risk controls. Approximately $185 million was transferred within a single minute, and no private keys were stolen. The total loss from this incident is approximately $387.5 million, but it did not affect cold wallets or user balances. Withdrawals for ETH and USDT are set to resume on September 29 and 30, respectively, with Mandiant and Slow Mist assisting in the investigation.
