Bitcoin OG Lao Mao: AI Narrative Has at Least 2-3 Years of Room

On July 27, at the Money Frontier 2026 New Infrastructure Intelligent Computing Summit, Bitcoin OG Lao Mao delivered a speech stating that over the past decade, he has firmly believed that the biggest macro trend in the world is governments continuously printing excess fiat currency, and Bitcoin, as a hedge against such currency overissuance, represents the most powerful trend. This overwhelming trend led him to disregard all other fundamentals and asset classes. However, this year, he suddenly realized that the narrative that brought the greatest value to Bitcoin has seemingly dimmed. Bitcoin's previous narrative was like a 100-watt light bulb in a dark world, but in the past two years, a 1,000-watt lamp suddenly lit up nearby, named AI. Capital has been flowing away from Bitcoin toward AI. AI has become the biggest narrative, the new macro trend. After recognizing this reality, he began to think about how to participate in this narrative. But the prerequisite is to judge how long this new narrative will last. His assessment is as follows: the AI narrative still has at least 2-3 years of room, and AI itself will be the engine of global economic growth for the next decade. While he still believes in Bitcoin, continues to hold Bitcoin positions, and trusts that one day BTC may return to the center of the narrative, the era of 100% BTC holdings is over, and Bitcoin has become just one allocation.

  • ChangXin Memory Technologies to Disrupt Global Storage Monopoly, Foreign Media Say

Samsung Electronics closed down 13.39%, its biggest single-day drop in 18 years, while SK Hynix closed down 14.65%, nearly halving from its June high. Multiple South Korean media outlets interpreted this sharp stock market decline as the impact of the listing of China's largest semiconductor company, ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT). Market concerns have spread that CXMT will use the funds raised from its stock market listing to catch up with semiconductor companies such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, leading to a dent in investor sentiment. According to earlier reports from CNBC, Peter Alexander, an analyst at Z-Ben Advisors, believes that following the development path of the steel and new energy vehicle industries, CXMT will quickly capture market share in the low-end memory chip segment and ultimately shake the monopoly of Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology in the global storage industry.
