On May 13, according to official news, the DeFi protocol Avant announced that the originally scheduled Token Generation Event (TGE) will be postponed to mid-September. Avant stated that after discussions with market participants, partners, and investors, the team believes that the current market environment is not suitable for token issuance. The DeFi sector has been under pressure recently, with multiple protocols experiencing security vulnerabilities, leading to a generally low industry sentiment. Although Avant has continued to see growth in Total Value Locked (TVL) during this period and is advancing collaborations and product expansions, the team believes that initiating the TGE after the market recovers will yield better results for users, investors, and the project itself. Avant also emphasized that the points distribution previously earned by users through Avant Rewards will not be affected; accumulation of points will cease on May 15, but rewards already earned will be retained and can be used for participation in the future airdrop during the TGE. The team stated that in the coming months, they will continue to strengthen protocol development, advance partnerships, and innovate products to enhance the project's long-term value. Additionally, Avant plans to hold a public Space this Thursday at 2 PM Eastern Time to communicate directly with community members about project progress.
