The woman met a man claiming to live in an Arab country through an instant messaging app. The man used high investment returns as bait to lure her into downloading a specific application and making "cryptocurrency investments." Under the scammer's guidance, the victim not only invested all her savings but also sold three apartments, a car, and a gold bar, even taking out bank loans and borrowing money from acquaintances. When the victim's funds ran out, the scammer deleted all chat records and disappeared. The Russian police stated that they are currently investigating the scammer and his accomplices. Previously, Kirov Oblast also reported a similar case, where a woman lost more than 2 million rubles after believing in cryptocurrency exchange investment promises.
