zCloak Network is a privacy-first DID and verifiable computation infrastructure. It aims to deliver the Web3 dream of Self-Sovereignty by moving both the storage and the computation of user data into user device from centralized servers.
The integrity of user computation is proven by a STARK-based ZK-VM in a browser extension. zCloak's W3C compatible DID system can mirror real-world legal status and reputation in DeSoc. With zCloak Network, people can use their real-world data for e.g. DeFi, Identity, Biometric applications without disclosing their privacy. zCloak Network is chain-agnostic—its identity and ZKP service can be served for most public blockchains.
zkID. app is the flagship product built on top of zCloak Network. zkID gives users a full suite of W3C compatible DID and verifiable credential service, combined with selective disclosure and ZKP computation. It introduces a unique verifiable data registry for DID document storage using self-authenticating data structures.

zkID comes with useful gadgets such as zkID wallet and zkID login for user credential storage and privacy-preserving interaction with any web/mobile app. With zkID. app, it is finally possible to "Prove who you are, without telling who you are". For tokenomics, zCloak Network does not have any specific plans yet, and more information will be announced in the future. zCloak's services use the business model of charging service fees from all three roles (including the attester, the claimer, and the verifier) in the network.
zCloak Network closed its seed round fundraising of $1.3M in April 2021 led by IOSG Ventures and Hypersphere Ventures. For its pre-Series A round, zCloak raised $5.8M from several participating investors participated by Coinbase Ventures, Bixin Ventures, KuCoin, etc. zCloak has plans to start another round of fundraising early 2023, which would be the Series A round.
The amount of fee charged to each individual or organization won't be large, but the sum of this revenue model is expected to increase steadily as more B-end and C-end users are included in the network. zCloak's services are compatible with all types of project in the market. For example, dApps, DeFi, infrastructures, public chains, and many more. Recently they have brought new credential network online for beta testing. Early next year, it will be available in production mode. The entity identity network is expected to be online in March, 2023, and mobile wallet will be available by June, 2023. By the end of 2023, all major functionalities of zCloak Network's system of services will be available in production mode.

Dr. Xiao Zhang, founder of zCloak Network, holds a PhD In Computer Science from University of Twente of the Netherlands. He has participated in multiple EU research projects with a total funding of more than 5 million euros. He has published over 20 research papers. His research background was distributed and dependable computer systems. Now he leverages this background to design scalable and trustless zero-knowledge proof system. The engineering team consists of 10 people. They come from a mixed background of blockchain development, cryptography and cloud computing. They have an average of 3 years experience in Ethereum solidity and Polkadot Substrate programming. The team has delivered a Web3 foundation grant project and has participated in the 2021 Web3 Bootcamp of Web3 Foundation and Wanxiang.
zCloak is in the process of reaching collaboration and partnership with major public blockchains and ecosystems, with the hope to integrate zkID protocol and series of products to all public chains and enable interactions between them. zCloak is working to provide users and projects with a platform that mirrors an entity’s real-world identity to the Web3 world. The ultimate goal is to give users’ data sovereignty back to themselves, and use a decentralized and privacy-preserving approach to realize more identity related use cases for all entities.
zCloak Network has completed designing and implementing its first DID method based on the W3C DID standard. The re-design of zCloak’s verifiable credential protocol based on the new DID has been delivered as well. The new DID method — did:zk — has been included into the W3C standard repository. For the product part, zCloak has updated its Credential Platform product combined and integrated with our new DID and VC protocol. The new platform includes an attester page and a claimer page, allowing functions such the issuance and claim of a credential, attesting to a credential, and full text or selective disclosure sharing of the credential data items. ZKP will also be included as a type of credential presentation.
