April 19 (Cointime) - NFT whale Franklin has deleted his Twitter account following a massive BAYC sell-off on April 13.
Before removing his account, Franklin revealed that he had been scammed out of nearly 2,000 ETH in a prior investment and lost 650 ETH in his Rollbit project investment. He urged people not to gamble and to avoid depositing unsecured ETH.

On-chain data reveals that Franklin sold at least 27 BAYC NFTs within 12 hours, raising 1,439 ETH (equivalent to $2.8 million). This sale resulted in the floor price of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection dropping to 55.59 ETH (equal to $111,000), the lowest level in the past five months. The majority of Franklin's NFTs were sold through Blur, Ethereum's leading NFT exchange.
Franklin attributed the decision to an "unlucky" personal issue, which forced him to liquidate his NFTs in bulk. In a now-deleted tweet, he wrote:
"Gm. Due to an unfortunate IRL issue, I have had to sell off a lot of BAYC apes to pay off BendDAO loans while the liquidity was available. I won't get involved in NFT trading/twitter for a while, and will just focus on my private life for the time being with my remaining apes."
