These rumors are not only false, but they are dangerous. They create opportunities for scammers and phishers.
Please be on the lookout for fake sites in the coming days🙏
According to Dan Finlay, a software developer at Metamask, the hype surrounding the alleged airdrop is being fueled by a “bunch of people who don’t know what they’re talking about”. He cautioned that scammers are likely to exploit the situation and target vulnerable users on that particular day.
There's a bunch of people who don't know what they're talking about hyping up a "MetaMask token drop snapshot March 31st". The phishers will probably be out in force around that day. Please take your FOMO vaccines now. 💉💉💉

The rumor about the alleged airdrop appears to have started on March 26 through a social media account named "eezzy". It gained more traction after being promoted by serp1337, the leader of Degenscan.
The rumors claimed to have insider information indicating that MetaMask would take a snapshot of user transactions on March 31, followed by an airdrop in 2024.
It is uncertain whether the original rumor was spread with malicious intent, as it did not ask for transfers to a particular address.
