April 27 (Cointime) - LayerZero Labs, a blockchain messaging protocol developer that allows decentralized applications build across multiple blockchains, announced a new project called Essence, which is aimed at simplifying the process of running validators.
With Essence, anyone can spin up and run a validator in less than an hour, without the need for a full devops team. "Essence allows anybody to spin up and run a validator (Oracle & Relayer) in <1 hour. Before, validators took months to build and required the support of a full devops team." the firm wrote in a tweet.
In addition, Essence enables teams to easily scale their validator sets to 10, 100, or even 1000 validators, and marks the first step in the road to v2. The waitlist for the validator already includes more than 50 of the best entities in the world. LayerZero Labs plans to open-source the code and publish documentation in the coming months.
Today we introduce a new project codenamed Essence, which separates security and operational burden. Essence allows anybody to spin up and run a validator (Oracle & Relayer) in <1 hour. Before Essence, running validators was cumbersome; requiring the management of security, gas prices, chain specific transaction listeners and senders, and wallet rebalancing across 30+ chains.
With Essence teams can easily scale their validator sets to 10, 100, or even 1000 validators.
This is the first step in the road to v2, and with a validator waitlist already including more than 50 of some of the best entities in the world we’re excited to be making it simple for developers, applications, and institutions to participate in securing their own messaging.
We'll be open sourcing the code and publishing documentation in the coming months.
