KYVE on Wednesday launched a tool it calls Supervysor that node operators in its network can use to monitor operations to prevent inconsistencies in the data validation process and management inefficiencies.

KYVE Network said the Supervysor Tool became necessary as new data pools are launching which makes it necessary for the user experience of protocol validator to be enhanced.

Running a protocol validator on KYVE requires that a node is run on the native chain to serve as a fact-checking mechanism for the uploaded data. Since KYVE validates data in a decentralised way, the native node syncs faster from Genesis than KYVE, the Network stated, adding the example of Osmosis data pool where operators who were already running the Osmosis node before KYVE data pool launch would have had more than one terabyte of data at pool launch.

“You can imagine Supervysor as, well, a node supervisor! Supervysor ensures that your node keeps at the same pace as the data pool & its validators, avoiding unnecessary high storage costs & extra management,” KYVE stated.

Without Supervysor, node operators will have to deal with the burden of high operations cost and data management inefficiency.

For KYVE, going mainnet means more data pool will be launched and Supervysor will play a role in helping validators run an efficient system. The network also hinted on how it would be upgrading Supervysor. It said storage requirement will be reduced while creating a backup solution for synced data and it will also be solving “other validator roadblocks that might pop up as more data launch on mainnet”.
