Six months after launching mainnet, KYVE, a protocol that enables access to on- and off-chain data using tools for decentralized data validation, immutability and retrieval has released its scorecard showing a project pushing steadily to success.

KYVE has three operational data pools including Cosmos, an interchain service provider; Osmosis, an automated money maker; Archway, a incentivized smart contract chain. Validated data are stored in data pools. Data pools are part of the protocol layer (one of two layers that make up KYVE’s own DPoS layer 1 blockchain) where validators collect data from a source, bundle and upload to a storage and validate it.

The network has also said that it was working to add more blockchains to its pool. Last week, KYVE’s co-founder Fabian Riewe said during an X space with the network would add bitcoin to its data pool.

KYVE has also seen an increase in validators participating in its mainnet. It said there are over 200 validators, giving more details that 100 are active consensus validators and 59 are active protocol validators with 90 inactive ones. While consensus validators operate in the Cosmos proof of stake blockchain and one of their tasks is keeping track of the data pools, protocol validators connect to data pools, upload, validate data from data sources and archiving.

“These validators are what make KYVE turn…Keep running,” KYVE stated.

Transactions in the last six months were 3.8 million, signalling that the protocol’s offerings have high demand in the Web3 space. It also revealed that there are 75,000 bundles created on KYVE that are 99.7 percent valid. Bundles small segments of the data sources (or pools) being archived which are uploaded by the KYVE protocol validators to Arweave. Asset amount deposited by liquidity providers or total value locked is 5.6 million $KYVE.

On what should be expected from KYVE in the third and fourth quarter of 2023, the protocol will be upgraded to version 1.3 and 1.4. It plans to improve devnet, deploy more ELT Data Pipelines and implement Twilight support.

  • US Considers Easing Sanctions on Shadow Fleet to Lower Shipping Rates

On October 15, a US official stated on Wednesday that the Trump administration is considering easing sanctions on vessels known as the 'shadow fleet.' These ships have previously transported oil and petroleum products from countries such as Russia, Iran, and Venezuela. This move aims to reduce the currently historically high global shipping rates. Shortly before this, President Trump had temporarily lifted sanctions on Russian diesel, a decision that drew strong criticism from Ukrainian President Zelensky, several European governments, and some Republican senators. The US official revealed that current discussions focus on whether the US will allow previously sanctioned vessels to transport 'legitimate oil.' Here, 'legitimate oil' refers to crude oil or petroleum products not subject to US sanctions, rather than oil from Russia and Iran that is under sanctions. The official stated that this move aims to facilitate the export of more refined products and crude oil from the Gulf region.
