VoIP and instant messaging social platform Discord announced the latest developments in its AI capabilities today:

  • Three AI experiences (Clyde, AutoMod AI, and Conversation Summaries) will be launched as free public experiments on a select number of servers.
  • Two AI explorations, Avatar Remix, and an AI-powered whiteboard prototype were previewed.
  • Discord has launched an AI incubator as part of its $5 million ecosystem fund, offering resources to developers interested in building AI on the platform. The incubator aims to support strategic partners, early-stage start-ups, and developers to bring their creativity to Discord.

Clyde is an artificially intelligent robot on Discord that can now have extended conversations and answer questions using OpenAI technology.

AutoMod AI

AutoMod AI on Discord is an experiment that utilizes OpenAI technology to identify and alert moderators when server rules are potentially broken by considering the context of a conversation.

Conversation Summaries

Conversation Summaries on Discord uses AI to bundle streams of messages into topics, allowing users to catch up or join in on important conversations easily, and will be experimented with in a limited number of servers starting next week.
