April 29 (Cointime) - After almost two months of being blocked in Italy, the popular generative AI ChatGpt developed by OpenAI is now accessible again in the country, according to Italy local media La Repubblica.

The Italian privacy guarantor had ordered the immediate blocking of the collection of personal data of Italian users by OpenAI, forcing the startup to block ChatGpt in Italy. However, OpenAI has now complied with the measures required by the Italian privacy guarantor before the April 30 deadline, which has led to the reopening of the service in Italy.
Italian users must confirm their age or have parental consent to use ChatGpt, and links to the privacy policy and an article explaining how the large language model is developed and trained are provided on the official chat page.
Three days ago, OpenAI introduced a new feature that allows users to hide chat history. When chat history is disabled, conversations will not be used to train and improve OpenAI's models, nor will they appear in the history sidebar.
