BNB Chain-Based Exchange Safemoon Liquidity Pair Compromised in $8.9 Million Hack

The BNB chain-based exchange Safemoon was compromised earlier today,  according to BscScan, almost $8.9 million in assets were transferred out of the liquidity pool.

"We want to inform you that our LP has been compromised. We are taking swift action in an attempt to resolve the issue as soon as possible." the firm wrote on Twitter.

A recent update may have introduced a “public burn bug” that facilitated the hack, security firm Peckshield said.
