Allbridge Unveils Recovery Plan on Recent Exploit, Prioritizing Bridge Users with Pending Transactions

Cointime Official

Cross-chain bridging solution provider Allbridge has unveiled its recovery plan to compensate users affected by the recent exploit. The company has already partly recovered funds and is determined to begin the compensation process.

As per the announcement, compensation will prioritize bridge users whose transactions were stuck in pending due to the emergency shutdown. Liquidity providers (LPs) will receive compensation after the affected bridge users.

In an earlier report, Cointime report the security breach on Allbridge. The hack resulted in a significant loss of funds, totaling approximately $570,000 (282,889 BUSD + 290,868 USDT).

"We will start with the bridge users whose transactions got stuck in pending due to the emergency shutdown. They will be receiving the compensation first, followed by the liquidity providers." Allbridge said in the announcement.

"Lastly, all the affected parties by the exploit will be subject to additional rewards in the future, but compensation remains our main priority." the firm added.

  • US Considers Easing Sanctions on Shadow Fleet to Lower Shipping Rates

On October 15, a US official stated on Wednesday that the Trump administration is considering easing sanctions on vessels known as the 'shadow fleet.' These ships have previously transported oil and petroleum products from countries such as Russia, Iran, and Venezuela. This move aims to reduce the currently historically high global shipping rates. Shortly before this, President Trump had temporarily lifted sanctions on Russian diesel, a decision that drew strong criticism from Ukrainian President Zelensky, several European governments, and some Republican senators. The US official revealed that current discussions focus on whether the US will allow previously sanctioned vessels to transport 'legitimate oil.' Here, 'legitimate oil' refers to crude oil or petroleum products not subject to US sanctions, rather than oil from Russia and Iran that is under sanctions. The official stated that this move aims to facilitate the export of more refined products and crude oil from the Gulf region.
