According to a report by Dongcha Beating, Tencent has announced a deep integration between WeChat Work and WorkBuddy. In the new version of WeChat Work 5.0.12, WorkBuddy is now part of the corporate contact list, allowing employees to chat with it like they would with colleagues, assign tasks, or add it to work groups for summarizing group chats, organizing meeting to-dos, and drafting emails, with results returned directly upon completion. WorkBuddy 5.8.0 supports login using WeChat Work accounts. Within the scope of corporate authorization, it can access 10 office capabilities including chat messages, documents, meetings, and WeDrive. Employees can handle tasks by combining previous discussions and project files without repeatedly uploading materials, and results can be saved to WeDrive with one click. The WorkBuddy bot can also connect to WeChat Work's built-in AI assistant 'Dayuan' for collaborative handling of more complex tasks. Administrators can assign WorkBuddy accounts, set data access permissions, and use the 'Observability Center', which will be in public beta starting October 13, to view departmental point consumption, model usage, task duration, and track specific execution steps that encounter issues. This new interoperability feature is open to certified WeChat Work enterprises and offers a limited free trial quota.
