On March 19th, local time March 18th, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal citing U.S. officials, after Israel attacked Iran's South Pars gas field on the same day, U.S. President Trump stated that he "does not want further attacks on Iran's energy facilities." The report stated that Trump was informed in advance of Israel's plan to attack the South Pars gas field and expressed his support, intending to send a message to Iran in "response to its actions of blocking the Strait of Hormuz." According to U.S. officials, Trump believes that "Iran has received this message" and therefore currently opposes further attacks on Iran's energy infrastructure. However, depending on Iran's future actions in the strategic waterway, Trump may still reconsider targeting more Iranian energy facilities. According to Israeli media reports, the Israeli Air Force attacked "major natural gas facilities" in southern Iran on the same day and was preparing to launch attacks on other national infrastructure in Iran. Israeli media reported that the attack was "coordinated with the United States." (CCTV International News)
