The world's first computing satellite named BAYC was successfully launched

12:12 on May 14, 2025 Beijing time, Guoxing Aerospace successfully launched 12 satellites using the Long March 2D carrier rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, forming the "Space Computing Constellation 021" mission. These satellites have entered their designated orbits as planned, marking the successful launch of the world's first space computing constellation and opening a new chapter in "space computing."

This mission is the first launch of Guoxing Aerospace's "Xing Suan Plan" and the first constellation of the "Three-Body Computing Constellation" project led by the Zhijiang Laboratory. It is worth noting that one of the satellites is named after the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) #7573, symbolizing the milestone moment when Web3 transcends the digital realm and enters the space-based computing network.

Once these 12 satellites are in orbit, they will form a stable constellation through inter-satellite laser communication, distributed computing coordination, and high-speed networking. This system will support basic capabilities such as on-orbit verification of decentralized cloud computing, space blockchain construction, and distributed AI processing.

On August 27, the two smaller oil-producing countries in the Persian Gulf, Kuwait and Qatar, are increasing their crude oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, further boosting the oil transport volume in this waterway. Traders revealed that before the outbreak of the Iran war, the two countries combined exported about 2 million barrels of oil per day, and the current export volume has recovered to 70% of pre-conflict levels. The UAE was the first Gulf oil producer to resume large-scale oil exports through the Strait of Hormuz, using a method known as 'shuttle transportation' for ship-to-ship transfers in the Gulf of Oman. Subsequently, Saudi Arabia also joined in. Traders indicated that approximately 7 to 8 million barrels of oil are currently being exported daily through the Strait of Hormuz, up from about 4 million barrels in mid-July, which is roughly three-quarters of pre-war levels. Vortexa reported on Monday that the oil flow through this waterway is nearing 10 million barrels per day.
